Pala

Septic replacement in Pala

Pala is a small North County community along Pala Road. Some parcels are tribal land of the Pala Band of Mission Indians. Some are not.

This is an independent referral guide. It connects homeowners with independent providers and may receive compensation. It is not a licensed contractor and it does not do the work.

Jurisdiction comes before the tank

The county Local Agency Management Program says OWTS inside tribal jurisdictions are outside the program unless authority was delegated. Do not send a tribal parcel through a county form because a neighbor off the reservation used DEHQ.

If the parcel is in unincorporated county jurisdiction, the same replacement, repair, and percolation questions used in Fallbrook apply. Confirm that with the assessor parcel and with DEHQ or the tribal authority, whichever actually governs the lot.

Hills and small sites

Pala lots can be tight against slopes. A field that needs a variance is a county conversation, not a promise. This page will not tell you a seepage pit is allowed. County guidance restricts vertical pits to specific coastal groundwater conditions.

Describe the failure

Say Fallbrook, Bonsall, Pala, or Rainbow, and whether sewage is backing up or the ground over the field is wet.
